The Wellsprings Hits 85% Occupancy as Businesses Continue to Expand

There are now just four offices remaining in the flexible office and co-working innovation space, which opened in September 2025.  It boasts a wealth of high-quality features, including a welcoming business lounge and a relaxing wellness space.

Eleven new businesses have moved in over the last five months, with 211 more employees using the centre in the last quarter.

Oxford Innovation Space, the team behind The Wellsprings, says the continued growth in new occupiers reflects the strength of the collaborative environment within the space and its growing reputation among Bolton’s business community.

Kirsty Humphries, Centre Manager for The Wellsprings, said:

“Reaching 85% capacity is a really special milestone for us. We’re particularly proud of the diverse community that has grown here and the energy that now exists across The Wellsprings. We’re seeing businesses expand their teams, move into larger spaces and explore new opportunities while they’re here, which is exactly what we want to enable.

“The Wellsprings has an important role to play in Bolton as both an innovation hub and part of the town’s wider regeneration. We want it to be somewhere businesses can put down roots and develop, helping to retain ambitious organisations in the town while attracting new ones. Ultimately, we want The Wellsprings to be a place where businesses choose to come, choose to stay, and have everything they need to succeed in Bolton.”

Users of The Wellsprings receive the support of in-house Innovation Director Ian Balderson, who provides growth and innovation coaching and support to businesses who use the space.

Businesses also benefit from a growing programme of networking events and workshops, as well as access to The Wire, a new digital platform that aims to connect people to others in the network of Oxford Innovation Space, which manages The Wellsprings on behalf of Bolton Council. Flexible workspace packages are available, designed to suit businesses at all stages of growth.

New occupants in The Wellsprings include Bolton-based E&A Cleaning Solutions; digital twin specialists Invisu; film and photography social enterprise SAZ Media; and the Manufacturers’ Alliance, which supports manufacturing businesses through leadership and peer networks.

They are joined by women’s wellbeing CIC Maman Christelle, fundraising consultancy RP Funding, wellbeing business Unwind Rebalance, and community food, music and arts project The Garden Maze. Technology platform Servicebird and ERP consultant Khalid have also taken offices at The Wellsprings.

Certo Legal has doubled its office space since joining The Wellsprings, while existing tenant TAO has expanded its digital marketing services through a merger. The Wellsprings says both demonstrate how the centre supports business growth.

Its renovation was backed by £6.9m from the Towns Fund with a further £1.4m from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
